The Mid-Cities Alumni Chapter came into existance when Brother John Habeeb Texas A&I and Nathan White SMU were looking to expand and start a chapter at the University Of Texas At Arlington.  Local Alumni in the area were asked to start a local alumni chapter to help with the charter process at UTA.   Eventually the chapter was founded in 1982 and the chapter at UTA received it's charter in 1984.

With the help of the Mid-Cities Alumni Chapter members the UTA chapter was steadily becoming one of the best chapters on campus and broke gorund on a new chapter house in May of 1988.

In 2019 the charter for the Theta Kappa Chapter at UTA was pulled and this sent uncertantity through the ranks of the Mid-Cities Alumni Chapter.   The Mid-Cities chapter went dormant for a couple years when in 2021 Brothers Tom Shearer, Kevin Preola, and Brian Hickey realized that if UTA was to get their charter back they would need local alumni support and the process was started in the fall of 2021 and received the approval of the Sigma Chi Executive Committee in September 2022 to be recognized as full alumni chapter status.

Many members of the MId-Cities Alumni Chapter have become ritual peers, members of the recharter team, and even held positions of Chapter Advisor and Magister to lead the charge to help restore the Theta Kappa Chapter at UTA.

The Mid-Cities Alumni Chapter continues to grow its membership and provide events for local Sigma Chi brothers to get involved.  The chapter often promotes region wide events with other local alumni such as the Dallas Alumni  and Ft. Worth Alumni Chapters.
